  Circuit Overseer Explains How The Internet Is A Trap!

  my mother told me that the co gave a talk on how a spider spins his web and it can take a very long time for the web to be made but just like that--- before you know it---it can catch its prey and devour it.

  it's the same with the world wide web, the internet.

  there are reports, according to the co, that in new york, a very prominent "anointed" man was disfellowshipped and he has his owm website where he has answered many jws questions.

  It is amazing that 6,000,000+ people buy this crap. In typical WTS fashion, the CO has taken a false statement (people exposing the

  WTS for what it is are predators seeking to devour JW's), compared it to another circumstance (a spider spinning its' web), and suddenly it

  must be true! As if we're supposed to think "Hey, a spider does spin a web to devour prey. Sometimes it does take a long time. What he

  said about the internet must be true, too!"

  The Society uses illustrations to divert people from their own natural reasoning into a "word picture". Once you switch over to the right

  side of the brain to imagine the scene, they slam home a twisted idea. Very sneaky. They hit you while you are quite literally "out of your

  mind".

  i was just examining the wt daily and found this little turd tucked away in the wt 3-15-00 page 13.

  a brilliant flash of light on one bible subject sometimes leads god?s anointed servants, "the faithful and discreet slave," to reexamine related topics, as the following recent example illustrates .

  so when our view of a bible passage is clarified, let us rejoice in advancing truth!

  Really, our continuing to be enlightened confirms that we are on the right path.

  No, it confirms that you are always wrong. Replacing the phrase "to be enlightened" with "to change our minds" (which is 100% fair and honest) is much more accurate. Would you consider someone who could never make up his/her mind to be "on the right path"? Would you take seriously a person that constantly changed their mind and insisted that each new idea was the truth, indisputable fact? Enlightenment implies a constant, forward march toward truth, not flip-flopping, back-stepping, and circling.

  a governing body that made decisions based on the scriptures and blessed by jehovah!

  now, he is once again serving as a christian elder.

He regained confidence, entered the full-time preaching work and is now serving as a special pioneer.

  Poor sap. He almost made it out but his own lack of confidence bit him in the end. If you're a JW teen, and they haven't squashed your natural "spirit of rebellion", you still have a chance to live a real life. Get out now!!!!

  Setting a good example for your JW fam...

  this came up in a conversation the other day, and i'm wondering if any of you have ever thought about this.

  now that i'm an apostate, i've come to realize that that term is not synonymous with being a total screw-up.

  in other words, i haven't really succumbed to all of those "bad" things that i was told would happen to me if i ever left the truth.

  This came up in a conversation the other day, and I'm wondering if any of you have ever thought about this.

  Yeah, I think about it all the time. It seems more important for me to set a good example now than when I was a dub. There is such a stereotype that people fall into an abyss of sin and misery when they leave the dubs. JW's also expect an ex to preach some new twisted religion and to try to undermine their faith. I engage in none of these, at least for now. Half of my co-workers are JW's, as is my entire extended family, so I'm always thinking about making us ex's look better. The best way to prove the JW's wrong is to live a better life out than you ever did in.

  for me, it was probably that damn pink great teacher book.

  1. "What God Requires of Us" --------- brochure

  This was also known as the "require" brochure----the standard beginners' study. Written at a 3rd grade level, both embarrassing and nauseating to read. Lots and lots of JW-type pictures, especially J.C. on the stake. Lots of 3 and 4 word sentences. Quite effective as it could be understood by anyone with a pulse, important considering the level of brain-death necessary to voluntarily become a JW.

  2. The "Proclaimers" book.

  The history of WTS as written by WTS, an organization not known for its honesty. Paints that nice, white washed picture that everything was, is, and will be hunky-dory. A few past mistakes are mentioned, but instead of apologizing the society somehow uses them as examples of god's blessing.

  Is WTS wrong Christianity flawed?

  i notice the most qouted parts by the wts is the ot and the epistles .

  all there rules are reinforcements of what is already there.

  infact the letters to the early congregations are very watchtowerish.

  You're right, XQs, WTS is trying to resurrect some supposedly first century religion. Never thought about it that way. I had my own reasons for leaving, but its always nice to hear more. My Christianity is on indefinite suspension due to lack of evidence.

  If you ignore posters like Who Cares, they will go away. Attention getting is what they're all about, so why feed into it? This was the most interesting thread title I'd seen in a while and it quickly degraded into a foodfight. Why not just pretend posts like that don't exist?

  Religious meetings once a week=enough

  of all the religions i know of, the one that is the most time consuming, is the jw religion.

  it's not just the fact that there is a meeting every 2 days, but these meetings have to be prepared ahead of time.

  being a jw, is almost a full time job.

  Meetings five times a week are only to bombard you with so much information (most of it "tired" and over repeated, nothing new messages) so as to keep you from actually thinking

  How true, onintwo! There's just enough time between meetings to superficially soak something in and then prepare for the next one. That makes it difficult to do any real research! The kind that involves outside sources. One is so tired and time-starved after the recommended dose that they almost certainly will have neither the time nor the inclination to do any more studying. Doesn't leave much time for fluff reading, either. So sad.

  here in oz, today is anzac day, the national commemoration of soldiers, sailors and airmen who have fallen in war.

  mrs ozzie and i have been very conscious of the fact that the wts and jws avoid recognizing any debt to the members of the armed forces who have fought in battle to preserve the peaceful conditions that the wts benefits from in its printing operations.

  Sorry to just parrot your words, but this one is gold!! Watchtower maturity can be almost the exact opposite of normal maturity.

  13. Someone who reads their bible without the "help" of "bible-based" publications.

  14. Someone who owns a two-door car or a pick-up truck. Of course, the truck owner can score maturity points by using the truck for theocratic errands. The two-door driver is a spiritually dead Luciferian bound for eternal destruction at the hands of the god of love.

  15. Someone who, after a long week at work, chooses to relax or catch up on personal business on Saturday. This is only acceptable if the week's "work" was pioneering, in which case Saturday service is optional. We wouldn't want our pioneers to have to converse with common publishers, would we?

  OK this not sleeping thing has got to stop

  well it's not that i'm not sleeping - i am - just only 2-3 hours at a time.. when i try to stay awake i start feeling nauseous from the lack of sllep and have to go lie down.

  then sleep for a couple of hours then the pain in my feet starts up and i am awake.. i just spent the second whole night this week wide awake.

  then during the day i am falling asleep for two hours then awake for an hour and back to sleep.

  Why not give good ol' cannabis a try? What do you have to lose if you are already taking prescription narcotics and even those are not working? Sure, it's illegal, but you have a moral right as a pained human being to seek out relief. Cannabis is not nearly as habit-forming or damaging as commercial drugs. It provides great pain relief, and its sleep-inducing qualities are unequalled, unless you prefer commercial sleeping pills and their long, hazy hangover. You don't even have to smoke it, as it can be cooked into delicious food. Finally, let's face it, it's fun.

  As a person prone to sleepless nights, this stuff has unfailingly provided me with night after night of beautiful, uninterrupted slumber while relieving stress and low-back pain. Give it some thought.
